People can't imagine a future where we banned cars, but how many failed techbro propellerheaded ideas to stop #globalWarming do you need to see before it's hard to imagine one where we didn't?
So we're going to put CO2, liquified, in high-pressure pipelines, instead of get out of our cars, and just accept the risk of a leak killing every living thing within a three mile radius, because three miles is a long walk, and obviously we can't ride bikes. #climateWishing
Cars aren't quite half of our #greenhouseGas emissions, but given the progress in other sectors, they will be soon. Further, daily consumption of fossil fuels and road construction bankroll the lobbyists who control our govt. to prevent collective #climateAction. Cars keep us flying because we can't build #highSpeedRail without urbanism in the source and destination cities, where you rent a car at the airport because #transit and the bike network fail to connect you to the last mile. #BanCars
@enobacon This is it. I recently did a podcast where I said if we had taken less drastic action 30 years ago, we may have saved ourselves from more drastic action now. But we have taken and likely will take very little action until society is disrupted.
