@Linux_Is_Best @Vincent392 The issue with snaps isnt resource hogging, it's the fact ubuntu forces it on users and makes it almost impossible to uninstall, and even if you uninstall it, doing another major version upgrade reinstalls it so you gotta go through the whole riggamaroll again any time it updates, ubuntu creates a closed ecosystem where it's snap and only snap, and even if you uninstall it, they are gradually phasing out .deb packages and one day will probably phase out .deb packages entirely in favor of snaps, it's already happening and the new immutable ubuntu spin is snap-only with no .deb packages, ubuntu is creating a closed proprietary ecosystem
@Linux_Is_Best @Vincent392 and then there's the spyware, ubuntu literally collects your data and you are unable to opt-out of it, so if you ubuntu then your data is being collected without your knowledge.
@Linux_Is_Best @Vincent392 and they also forbid official Ubuntu flavors from preinstalling the open source cross-distro package format known as flatpak, because if ubuntu had flatpak preinstalled then it would threaten their closed ecosystem and they wouldn't be able to exploit their users.

@n3m3s1s @Linux_Is_Best @Vincent392 Yeah, that Anti-#flatpak stance is shit...

Sadly they only need to be less assholes than #RedHat and cheaper than #SUSE to survive and even grow.

@kkarhan @n3m3s1s @Linux_Is_Best look I'll say this much:
We all have different distros. And I choose Ubuntu and I'm going to stick with it.
So you can't change that eh?

@Vincent392 @n3m3s1s @Linux_Is_Best Well, I do myself do stick with @ubuntu as well since they are the only #Freemium #Enterprise #Linux Distro that doesn't want ne to cough up triple digits per year just for the privilegue of using their Software.

Some people would do that for #macOS since they do #creative #work with that but for them it's like with people paying for #RHEL or #SLES / #SLED and those paxing for #Adobe's Crapware: It's a #BusinessExpense!

@kkarhan @n3m3s1s @Linux_Is_Best @ubuntu although can we be real about macs for one second?
They're just fancy cardboard boxes with Bluetooth. Or smth.
