Just watched "The Conference" on Netflix that premiered today on Friday the 13th. And THANK GOD it was good as I have recommended a lot of people to watch it (and I did the storyboards).

A review of The Conference (2023)

Hooptober X: 19/32 - Country: SWEDEN Happy Friday the 13th, everybody! THANK GOD it was good. I storyboarded this and had no idea what the end product would be as I had only read the script for the scenes with violence and effects that I worked on. But I shouldn't have worried, Mats Strandberg's book is beloved, director Patrik Eklund is a genius (seriously, check his films out if you haven't, the guy got an Oscar nomination and it wasn't even for his best film) and the makeup effects are done by 3 time Oscar nominees Love Larson and Eva

@dave31175 I hope you like it!

I think it is a movie for slasher fans BUT with a "The Office"-twist that should help non-fans to get into it too. And I think the Swedish-ness of it all will make it more exotic.

@Ebeeto Kul att höra! Ja, det är något uppfriskande att för en gångs skull se andra människor än kåta tonåringar i en slasher! :)

@JanneFantastic Det är fan suspekt hur många kåta tonåringar som återfinns i amerikansk skräckfilm.
Personerna i Konferensen hade ju alla koppling till det som motiverade mördaren. Ingen förtjänade att dö (förutom kanske en), men det fanns heller ingen förbipasserande total främling som gick åt. Det fanns så mycket mer hjärta än i de ofta för sadistiska samtida amrisarna. Och mördaren fick äta skit flera gånger, vilket jag saknat i de senare Scream-filmerna, till exempel.
