Riding down from union square to city hall #bikeNYC #bike
There have been 26 deaths of cyclists on #nyc streets so far this year.
Mayor Adam’s vetoes every plan to reduce road violence and calm streets, tanking years of community study and work to make our streets safe for everyone — even if you’re not in a car.
Frédérique Uster-Hug, widow of slain cyclist advocate mowed down by a truck in a bike lane last year sums up our shameful numbers:
@atthenius Riding down to Union Square was quite the experience. That bike lane is so narrow and we got passed so often.
Made it to City Hall.
Returned from City Hall on the Hudson Greenway. It was wonderful but dark and got passed often, usually by powered skateboards and electrified Citibikes. I cannot imagine that being narrower. Exited at 72nd for Riverside Drive. Fairly empty and wasn't passed.

@Iragersh I was looking for you, but I couldn’t see where you went.
I don’t think I would ride this street outside of a big organized ride… but taking over the street tonight was pretty amazing. It *could* be like this EVERY day.
I rode back on the HRG with the cargo bike mom and dad and another one of the uptown riders.
