@arstechnica it’s interesting but basically everything especially social media strips metadata.
@cdlhamma @arstechnica would be interesting if we would digitally sign pictures.
@interface @arstechnica yes! I was thinking about this more last night. That would be really cool, but it feels almost like it would require an entirely new image standard. I have no idea how it would work with what we have today
@cdlhamma @arstechnica it's probably fine actually... you could store the data in regular metadata sections of existing formats. It's more about how consuming applications then display who the image was signed by. Not like the "extended validation" SSL certs that made no sense.
@interface @arstechnica yeah true, it’d be nice if there were some standards on what metadata is left intact when uploading.
