I felt quite a bit of an #IndianaJones vibe when crossing this little "bridge" over the Rio Pavia in #Viseu on a shortcut to the bus terminal today. :) #portugal #hiking #lang_en

🇬🇧 I wasn't aware of the correct term. But in Englisch it is called #SteppingStones. 🔗 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stepping_stones

🇩🇪 Ich kannte den korrekten Begriff nicht. Man nennt es offensichtlich #Trittsteine! #lang_de 🔗 https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trittstein

🇵🇹 Eu não conhecia o termo correto. Parece que este tipo de ponte é chamado #poldra ou #alpondra. #lang_pt 🔗 https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poldra

💚 Mi ne sciis la ĝustan terminon. Ŝajnas, ke tuij nomas #paŝoŝtonoj. #esperanto #lang_eo 🔗 https://eo.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pa%C5%9Do%C5%9Dtonoj

@sustainrelease If this is the place in your photo, the stepping stones cross the river Pavia and not the Paiva, which is a different river also in the Viseu district. https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/8875703720 🤓

Nice photo, by the way!

You are of course absolutely right, @prcr . Thanks for noticing. Unfortunately, I keep mixing up those two names. The fun thing is, we were actually discussing the right pronunciation minutes before my post, and I messed up anyway. ;)

I've corrected it in the meantime! Obrigado!

@sustainrelease Visited this very similar place back in 2019 in the same area (near Fataunços). That kind of ‘bridge’ seems to be a trend over there 🥰
@joxe I'm currently diving a little deeper into that rabbit hole now that I know the correct term (🇬🇧 stepping stones, 🇵🇹 poldra, alpondra). It seems actually to be fair to assume that this is more widespread in #Portugal than many other countries...
