Now that almost every major #EV manufacturer is switching to #Tesla #NACS - I would advise anyone interested in purchasing an #ElectricVehicle to wait until later in 2024 when the manufacturers have the NACS plugs and system actually built into the vehicles. #CCS is effectively dead, as the remaining manufacturer hold-outs #BMW and #Stellantis probably don’t have the market share. #Ford #Chevy #GM #Volvo #Polestar #Hyundai #Kia #Honda, #Mercedes, #Nissan, #Rivian, #Jaguar, #Fisker have switched
#VW is in talks with #Tesla to adopt #NACS and that really only makes the #Chinese manufacturers the last wild-card in the equation of charging standards. #Stellantis is “evaluating” it but given recent trends I cannot imagine Stellantis & #BMW would be the only major non-Chinese hold out. It would doom them. Especially since #GM, #Honda, #Hyundai, #Mercedes and BMW have a partnership to build a massive charging network. I can’t see how anyone is left to stick with #CCS realistically.
I forgot #Toyota. So without details on what the Chinese companies are doing (although assuming those that are part of the #Volvo #Polestar conglomerate are switching to #NACS) - Toyota, #Stellantis, and #BMW are the largest remaining hold outs - and #VWAG is still a “maybe”. If #BYD adopts NACS there is essentially zero momentum left in CCS.

Well, #BMW / #Mini announced their move today (includes Rolls Royce for what that’s worth). #VWAG and #Stellantis are in negotiations - so they will likely commit soon. #Toyota is really all that’s left outside of China…

Now about the charging companies; Just using the #NACS plug is not satisfactory - they need to improve ease of use and reliability…
