There’s draft legislation, but it still needs to go before the committees before it will go to the the House of Reps and the Senate to be amended and then be voted on by our elected representatives, you know like every piece of legislation.

Our constitution says we will have an army, a postal service, a parliament. It makes no mention of Prime Ministers, political parties, whether we should have post office shops, postal deliveries 3 or 5 days a week, or what our defence forces should look like. That’s the job of parliament.

It’s deceptive to ask for legislative detail when they can’t legislate on something that doesn’t yet exist. Parliament retains the power to make laws and to suggest this government can do something different is gas lighting.

@FerdiMagellan @CraigPendlebury @Old_IT_geek @DropBear @static A legislated Voice without constitutional change would’ve been abolished by the next conservative government, as has happened every other time. Giving people a voice only to take it away again is a terrible thing.

Exactly, but screeching for detail is a useful technique to derail rational discussion.
