That's all very reasonable, but that's not compatible with the need for Oil Companies to continue to make climate change worse until 2050.
Reducing pollution to a manageable quantity is not aligned with many business models & arguably can not be achieved within the capitalist economic paradigm.
Therefore, the ecologically degrading effects of pollution will eventually cause the capitalist economy to fracture due to an ecological polycrisis.
Until that time, business as usual will simply try to, well, carry on regardless with business as usual (as the richer status quo has been doing for decades)
