The families of the women whose bodies the #Winnipeg PC's are refusing to search for in the landfill are requesting cessation of land acknowledgements until the landfill is searched & the calls for justice* on MMIWG & 2SLGBTQIAA+ are respected (I'll add the replacement text under this post).

I'd like to sign the Open Letter to Event Organizers which insists they stop acknowledging our Lands until they search the landfill. As the Harris, Myran, Nepinak families and others have said, there is no reconciliation in treating our women like garbage.

We acknowledge that refusing to search sends a clear message to those who prey on Indigenous Peoples, a message of invitation to dump their victims in the trash over in Winnipeg where they won’t even be looked for.
