#ClivenBundy, the infamous rancher who should be in prison (along with his son) is STILL running cattle “with seeming impunity” on protected federal land (a national monument).

#BLM attempted to corral the cattle in 2014 and was outnumbered by armed vigilantes, foreshadowing January 6th.

In 2014, he owed an estimated $1,100,000 in fees and fines.

I was a site steward for Gold Butte, where Bundy was running his cattle. We were told from the get-go that Cliven had threatened to kill anyone who messed with his cows.

My particular site had petroglyphs that were a couple of feet off the ground, and had obvious damage from cattle. That's part of the reason Gold Butte was a protected area.

Cliven Bundy is pure scum. Even his local Mormon stake house in Bunkerville thinks he's off his rocker. At the standoff, his side seriously discussed putting the women and children in front, so they'd catch the gunfire if it erupted.

These are our proud "Republicans", showing their stripes so well in Cliven Bundy's quote, "Let me tell you what I know about the Negro."

I've no idea, and have long since moved from the area. The last standoff was really with the Clark Co. Sheriff's Dept. The BLM made some missteps prior to trying to seize the cattle, but I'm inclined to think that dropping it was largely political, thrust forward by Bundy's Mormon friends in the NV statehouse.
