Rasperry Pi 5 Specs and Images Leaked from element14? | Tech-KnowHow.com

@nixCraft is that an @adafruit STEMMA QT port 👀👀
@kali @nixCraft @adafruit I had the exact same reaction! If that's the case, that's nice :D
@nixCraft @SamantazFox they must be applying lessons they learned from their wildly successful rp2040 microcontroller—hopefully we get PIO on the pi 5!

@kali @nixCraft So I got my answer: it's not an Adafruit QWIC port. It's the same connector family, but the 2P one is for the RTC battery, the 3P one is for UART and the 4P is for a fan.

@nixCraft @SamantazFox I wonder, why does a fan need 4 pins?
@kali @nixCraft Probably the usual VCC, GND, tachometer and PWM signal.
@nixCraft can’t wait to buy one for a project I’ll never get around to
@nixCraft I hope they have greater supply, it's been so hard to buy a Pi 4 for awhile now
@nixCraft PCIe ZIF connector 🤔

@nixCraft

Soon this baby will be able to automate your home and run Crysis at the same time.

@nixCraft Phoronix benchmarks: https://www.phoronix.com/review/raspberry-pi-5-benchmarks

Performance on par with the 8 core Orange Pi 5

@nixCraft sounds like it’s bound to be public quite soon. Jeff Geerling also had a small oopsie, so it’s coming!
@nixCraft Almost enough RAM to run Chrome.

@nixCraft
And I was just thinking about buying an RPI4 for hosting API-s for my university projects

Now I just have to wait for this

@nixCraft
And its not even that "expensive" with our weak currency (though I haven't included the needed accessories).
Looking at the specs, on paper it would even beat my power hungry "HomeLab server"

@nixCraft specs aside I hope they can make then in sufficient numbers, because that's been the issue with the current models. 😔
@nixCraft with only 8GB RAM they should not call it more than version 4.something.
Damn memory is very limiting in desktop computing.
