60 Minutes asked General Milley what he thought of Trump's comment about him "This is an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been death!"

Milley was very diplomatic and refused to address that ad hominem directly.

What Milley should have said was "in times gone by a President who acted in the way Trump did would have been impeached, convicted, and most likely executed for treason".

@enmodo
Well, in times past the army would have killed any politician who disrespected them so openly. If Trump wants to go down that road.

Ask any Roman emperor.

@taoish I guess that's why Trump is so desperate to "clean house" (aka shit the bed) in the military. Problem is it takes a whole army full soldiers loyal to the King over country to keep him safe, but just one single soldier "going rogue" (aka fixing the glitch) on the King.

That our system is still so broken it allows that to happen (thanks to his hijack SCOTUS) is insane.

@enmodo And "thanks" to Tommy Tuberville. There's no mystery that he's keeping all of the leadership slots open for Trump to appoint minions.

Don't forget that in the middle of the J6 insurrection, Trump called Tuberville **as the senator was being evacuated** to get him to delay the vote.

That Senate rule needs to be killed.
