I often think that Petunia was manufactured without the default cat software so she has a vague notion of how to cat but not really.

For instance, she understands there is a lap cat category of cats, but has little idea what that entails or how to sit on a lap.

@casseagull She tries though!! Gotta give her credit!! xD πŸ₯°πŸ˜‚

@casseagull How sweet! My Petunia enjoys being lap-adjacent. When I use my recliner she thinks my shins are the best pillows. Also her mother frequently calls dibs on my actual lap.

(She does, however, enjoy her sister's lap: https://toot.cat/@yudderick/111111774004227460 )

@casseagull cats are always perfectly cat!

This one is just engaging in the cat art form of massively confusing her humans :)
And making my back ache.

@casseagull she's innovative and refreshingly experimental, not content within the stifling constraints of convention. That's the kind of cat the world needs right now.
@casseagull @yudderick She’s got the shedding part down.
@casseagull She's purrfect no cat software update needed.

In Petunia's defense, I would ask, is there really a wrong way to sit on a lap when you're a cat?

I mean, it could be wrong for the human (pointy paws poking in sensitive places) -- but the cat don't care! We're just cat furniture! 😁

@casseagull

Petunia is a lot like mine. He loves people, but hates to be held. His idea of affection is to jump in bed with you and bump his head against your back or butt (he does it to my parents and wakes them up all hours of night lol)

@casseagull she got the hair shedding thing down to perfection though.
@oblomov The shedding "feature" is built into the hardware, I believe.
