“I don’t think enough people are pirating. Let’s see what we can do about that.”
@sezduck wtf is with these mega company with billionaire CEOs driving up prices and inflation? Do they not have enough nesting doll yachts? Is it some never-ending dick measuring contest? (Literally for Musk)
You'd think at some point they'd realise that no matter how much money they earn, they will never fill that emptiness inside where their soul used to be.
I second that. I get it on DVD from my local library. Otherwise, I don't worry. I know I can always find something at the library.
Offerings can vary. My local library here has Hoopla and Libby (formerly Overdrive). I believe they have Kanopy, but have not really checked.
And I hear ya on books not have that certain interference.
@sezduck
Two points:
1.) Apparently Usenet is making a comeback and this could be one of the reasons why.
2.) If there's no legal way to watch a movie, then is it really pirating? No. It's archiving.
@sezduck image 3: "with cost of streaming services going up, how to save."
... Did they give the correct answer? 😉
So disappointing. And to think we all thought we were paying in order to escape ads.
@sezduck @nachtpfoetchen “options are very limited”
I don’t think that setting up a VPN connection and going to 1337x.to and downloading whatever is “limiting”, but ok
@sezduck "Amazon will start putting ads?"
It already does for us, Ads are about the shows in Prime Itself, and prime keeps forcing users to *subscribe* to more shit through prime video 🤡
It's pretty sad.
Is this inflation?
I am thinking the only right response for consumers, are to hold out from spending. Or pirate the shit.
