Where is my #writingcommunity? Trying to find a new home to learn about where to submit, and where I can read others' work. We're in this together.

#introduction I didn't see this option until after I posted. I will do up a better introduction soon :)

If you are a writer, or journal, Say hi. Follow me and I'll follow you.
(Is that how it works here?)

@kjagain we're out here somewhere, you know, buried under our own self-hate and feelings of inadequacy.

And sometimes booze.

Follow-for-follow is kinda sorta how it goes but the fun is in just jumping into conversations and seeing who you vibe with.

Anyway, welcome. The air is pretty clean here.

@MattiePav Hi Mattie.

Yes, thanks for the advice. I delightfully surprised by the support after less than 24 hours on the site! Can't wait to read more and keep sharing :)

PS I've switched to beer, it's cheaper than booze. ๐Ÿ˜‚

@kjagain I gave the stuff up entirely but the writer part of me sometimes wishes I hadn't.

@kjagain
You've got the major tags! Good start. Add these hashtags #pennedpossibilities, #wordweavers, and #writerscoffeeclub as they are very active now. #Writever and #TimeTravelAuthors is niche, but you'll see that, too.

I would suggest creating your Mastodon profile ASAP so people know who you are, and don't think you're a bot. I did a bit of research and I think you may have the same handle on the service formerly known as Twitter; you may wish to point that out, as well as linking on your profile to blogs, online store, or other things. Post responses to prompts on the hashtags and people will start following.

I follow if you're interesting, not necessarily reciprocally.

@kjagain
Oh, yeah. Hot tip: Look at the follow lists of authors you find on this service. It's available on most user's profiles, and you may find familiar names. I did.
@sfwrtr Thank you for your advice! I plan to do a proper intro, and build up my profile. I am indeed kjagain on almost every feasible writer's social media. I am not the kjagain on pinterest, but I also don't have pinterest ๐Ÿ˜‚ I am so excited about the writing community I have seen in less than 24 hours, and plan to check out these hashtags you mention. The #writever hashtag sounds quite interesting, even if it's niche. Sounds like something I would say.
@kjagain Sort of how it works. That intro post (and perhaps some pinned posts if you have more to say, you can pin as many as you want) are what makes it or breaks it in terms of a follow.
@alan Thanks Alan. I'm a bit overwhelmed with the responses here! I'm hoping to build a proper profile and introduction some time today/tomorrow. But I'm trying to get through and do my part in following back, liking comments, and replying where I can. Thanks again :)
