@revmem I was actually out of the country at the time, so less exposed to the coverage than if I'd been home. I reside on Oʻahu so there was no direct threat to us. Over time we became aware of the and scope of the disaster and its local impact... it was quite horrifying and heartbreaking.

In some ways it was reminiscent of 9-11, which also occured when we were out of the country. The experience was disconcertingly similar, though on a very different scale.
