Dear Mastodon:

Hey, did you know I write books? Fun fact: I do! And the latest one is out today in North America in print, ebook and audio formats (UK, you get it Thursday). It’s called Starter Villain, and it is about villainy, toxic masculinity and capitalism… but funny. Also, it has cats. I hope you will check it out and recommend it to your friends if you like it. Get at your favorite local or online bookseller!

@scalzi Started it this morning, and it's been a delight so far!
@scalzi This is one of my favourite covers of the year.
@scalzi Just nabbed it from Kobo this morning, I'll probably start reading after work. Lucky me, I have a long weekend coming up, too!
@scalzi goddammit scalzi, I've got to wait till Thursday. Fine!
@scalzi I can personally attest that John Scalzi does in fact write books. I have read all of them and the spelling and punctuation are flawless.
@scalzi Oh yeah I got email from nook about that today!
@scalzi I just realized that I need to purchase my own copy of this so I have this cover. (I was planning on getting it to read from the library)

@scalzi

Yep, waiting on the Audible release to download to my phone. It may be a bit before I get to listening. I've got over 4 hours of KSR's "The Ministry for the Future" to finish listening to though. Mostly I listen while traveling, so...

@scalzi just in time for the holidays. Adding to gift list for my daughters.
@scalzi Our beasts are relieved that the cover cat is not a calico Maine. They were afraid you'd blow their cover.
@scalzi well I’ll be darned! thanks for the update. :)
@scalzi more bloggers should start writing novels
@scalzi Yes, in fact I did know that! Also, beautiful cat face.

@scalzi
And it has brilliant cover art!

(I love that part.)

@scalzi Had plans and tickets to catch you in Wichita this week, but surprise doctor appointment out of town changed those plans. I'll have to catch you on the next one.
@scalzi the library has 17 copies and 27 people waiting with holds 😮
@scalzi I've bought (read and enjoyed) your books, but cats, ack.
@scalzi the cats are the ones that are really in control , we see them as cute cuddly little four footed people, but they are expert manipulators, when we recognize this, then we can truly begin to understand them. But there are many things about cats that we will never understand, this is how it is supposed to be. 🐱
@scalzi ♫ Same as the old boss! ♫
@scalzi Shocked! I thought you were known for creative burritos and occasional cat photos! (Nah, we love your books!)
