I get Romney is retiring & doing his tell all book but—
1. We already knew all this. Him affirming it makes zero difference.
2. He's still in power. He can vote w/Dems & pass BBB, child tax credit, abolish filibuster, etc—but won't.

Talk is cheap. Let's see action for justice.

@QasimRashid He's against BBB and the child tax credit and against helping Democrats pass them. Like Liz Cheney, he's only good on the issue that people should respect the voters' will, concede when they lose, and not try to violently overthrow the government. If the GOP were all like that, we could deal, despite them being wrong about almost everything: we'd just need to beat them at the ballot box.

@QasimRashid He has some integrity and is clear-eyed about Trump, but he’s completely out of touch with ordinary Americans. He grew up rich—his father was president of American Motors—and became even wealthier at Bain.

He said young people who can’t find good-paying work should take a chance and start a business by borrowing money from their parents.

@QasimRashid Romney's a POS with a few red lines he won't cross. I suppose that makes him a better POS than the others? #GOP #USPolitics
@QasimRashid he had the chance to speak out and chose to be very quiet
@QasimRashid there will be no action. Romney doesn't actually give a shit about his country.
@QasimRashid Preach. He knows he can't win next election so he's stepping down.
@QasimRashid that photo of him looking uneasy as he sat down to dinner with Trump told me all I needed to know about his values.
Fuck him, and fuck his attempts to come out of this with no shit on his shoes
@QasimRashid
Mittens leaving has no effect on one damn thing.
He's leaving to go ride his car elevator.
@QasimRashid you’re absolutely right talk is cheap. He was our governor for four years and it took Deval Patrick eight years to undo all the additional fees he put in place, the big dig in Boston- which was a disaster. And the state was run by the Lt Gov at least the last year because he was running for Pres. The one thing I will credit him for is the healthcare that he did a good job of.
@QasimRashid All he's ever been is talk. It's what vulture capitalists do...they talk, and they take.
@QasimRashid
Romney is intent on cover for post Senate Romney.

@QasimRashid he's also an objectively terrible person.

I'm adding his name to my filter list. Nothing about him is noteworthy.

@QasimRashid There’s a good deal of certainty in these comments that Romney couldn’t win again. That’s not at all clear. He’s on an upward trend in polls. While his favorability is anemic for a Republican incumbent in heavily Republican territory, no potential challenger comes anywhere near him. In a largely Democratic state, he wasn’t a bad Governor. As others have said, if other Republicans had just drawn the same bright red lines as Romney, other parties could cope.

@QasimRashid

He should just resign now. As should McConnell, Feinstein, and a few other elder statespeople I could mention. Make room, make room!

@QasimRashid As public figures age they start obsessing about their legacy. How many people they managed to dick over, how much money they were able to hoard, the rules they got away - that is, how they actually lived their lives - is not the way the want to be remembered. They write books and give talks to take control of the their narrative, show some humour, do a bit of philanthropy, take on an important issue. Think of Bill Gates or any number of rich assholes and you'll understand Romney.

@QasimRashid

A little blog effort to remind people that anything you say about Mitt Romney - that he's free to say what he thinks now, that it's incredibly cowardly not to name names and speak up ....

...all goes quintuple for GW Bush.

He will never face an electorate, never need a job from a right-wing employer, may truck with donors but not with MAGA voters, has no excuse, has never had an excuse in 7 years.

Stackback: Canada's Not Broken

@QasimRashid
Just like their excuse for siding with Trump "but I fear for the lives of my family", meanwhile the democrats pull the curtain back on that B.S.
@QasimRashid That is gonna be the absolutely most boring 'tell all' book anyone will ever write.

@QasimRashid
If Romney changed party affiliation now, could the Demcrats control the judiciary committee in the event that Feinstein decides to step down?

He could do us a solid, if the math works.

@QasimRashid as much as people revered McCain, he was the same way. His voting record was horrific. Talk is surely cheap.
@QasimRashid He’s a victim of his own cowardice. We remember how he sucked up to the guy, over and over. Yes, he voted to impeach, but he’s failed to stand up against all the evil being created by his party. You’re right, he could DO something, but instead he’ll sell a book, claim victimhood, and waste everyone’s time.
