People have decided to not having a child/children because it's expensive due to inflation. Having kids costs a lot of money in order to afford the basic needs of their child/children. The prices of basic needs (such as food, clothes etc.) have gone inflated, which that would affect the families badly, especially the lower income ones.

Another reason could be due to one's experiences (i.e. abuse from family, generational trauma etc.) which led them not to have kids.
