@WordyCurator @penprompts I am writing a historical fiction piece about an English immigrant woman first experiencing #NewZealand - Annie Jane Schnackenberg. As I tried to imagine her emotional state while she first navigated life among Māori in the Waikato region in the 1860s, I drew from my own memories, re-living my own life when I first felt culture shocks hit during my first month as an ex-pat teaching in rural Zimbabwe. #QuillsQuest, a weekly #writing #prompt
