@MikeDunnAuthor Image Description: a screenshot of a post by Economic Left:

a meme of two buttons, one labeled "Tell employees we can't afford to pay more", the other labeled "brag about record profits". a hand is pressing both buttons at once.

second pane zooms out to show a man giving a thumbs up in front of a banner reading "Every Company"

@tarajdactyl

Thanks. I got the alt text on there moments after the original post.

@MikeDunnAuthor

I was reading something the other day, in a non-political forum, from a guy who is working 50hr weeks. He and his coworkers are barely make enough to pay their bills. The management is always bragging to the employees how they have had record profits.

#Clueless.

@MikeDunnAuthor Yep! Every time I get one of those corporate "look at our record profits" emails as I sit there with my pay failing to keep up with inflation even with raises, I just shake my head. The folks that send them are completely unaware of the negative effect the emails have on their workforce. I've seen many people leave, and many more stop trying so hard because their efforts are never rewarded. All while the execs flaunt their fancy clothes, cars, vacations, homes, & stuff, oblivious
@MikeDunnAuthor My employer executed layoffs in January, with severance running through this summer. They are now bragging about how eager they are to hire back those laid off workers. It’s insane.

@birwin

Totally insane. Irrational.
That's capitalism!
