"There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It’s all surface. .. We see it as having no inner world, no soul."
This is the description that resonates with my perception of him and drives the existential dread of what to do if he gains any power ever again. He is just a personal-power seeking P-zombie. Completely unaware, un-self-aware.
@wryanfisher @briankrebs @kennzaney1 Good point, well made. Now imagine someone else with the same scruples but with a mind to use them effectively.
Fuck.
@briankrebs @kennzaney1 The two things I most noted from that piece were:
1) It was written in a hurry; a stream of consciousness. Well-written, sure, but could have been *extra*.
2) The prick was holding back.
@kennzaney1 he sounds to me like the cliché "used car salesman".
But I get why people like him. He tells them what they want to hear even if its the dumbest thing ever. Since it's a dumb policy (e.g. the border wall), he is the only person saying what they think. Finally, they have "proof" that they aren't stupid because a "billionaire" is also saying that...

Unfortunately it's not quite true. The British have the Conservative party, after all, and those in office these days are cut from much the same cloth.
Great description of trump—thanks for sharing it!
Yeah, whatever happened to the conventional wisdom that people vote for the guy they’d like to have a beer with? trump is nothing like that!

>"Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever."
I always found it stupidly absurd when various late night hosts, incl. John Oliver but esp. Colbert and Kimmel, espoused Trump was funny. I do get where they are coming from but that is such an abhorrently low standard.
As such it's quite satisfying to see someone judging Trump's sense of humor—or the lack thereof—even more harshly.
