It's a CR 1/2 monster which can dish out a fair bit of damage, especially if you're unlucky with the dice. The ⛺ Short Rest is tempting, but you're already at full health and hitdice are better preserved for dire straits. No point returning to town with your pockets as light as they are. I'd say your best bet is to stand your ground. Draw that lance and show the goat [1/2]

@dungeons Given Mike's current state, it's wise to engage the Dretch. It's a low-risk opponent (CR 1/4), and we've full spell slots. Using a spell wouldn't cost much, considering the house rule of non-consumption on a double miss. A victory will recover some HP and gain more XP. Avoiding isn't useful, we need the XP. Resting costs precious hit dice and the threat isn't high. Town should be visited when we're desperate. So, my advice - stand your ground and fight.
