@fkamiah17 I notice the keynote theme by Babcock will lead to a short and embarrassing session for #labour. It's titled “Sovereign capability: How can we make, buy and sell British?”.

The answer, simply, is to join the SEM & CU on the way to #RejoinEU

The policy of labour is not to do this. Mainly because they want the racist & Brexit supporters vote.

Odd how the party of the ordinary person is going to do so little for them?

@jackLondon @theterminator @fkamiah17 ""Rejoining the #EU is a net vote loser"
It aint necessarily so..

Labour could win increased majority by turning against Brexit, new poll finds - The Constitution Society

Polling reveals the Labour Party would regain all Red Wall seats and expand its overall support if it said Brexit was a mistake.

@OliverNoble @theterminator @fkamiah17

The conclusion is "there would be no electoral penalty for Labour if the Party said Brexit was a mistake"

But NOT that that'd be the case if they committed to #rejoinEU - a very different thing

I think there's not much difference between "making Brexit work" - which kind of implies it is not working now - & explicitly stating it was a mistake

I doubt it makes much odds either electorally or in terms of rejoining for #labour to state it was a mistake

@jackLondon @theterminator @fkamiah17 yes, its an important distinction - but #Starmer cant even say the obvious and true - that #Brexit is a disaster - he will talk about making it "work" but not the obvious flip-side which is that it doesnt work

If the poll is correct there is no political cost and there is even an electoral benefit to speaking the truth to the electorate

But its just a bit too scary.....

@jackLondon @theterminator @fkamiah17
If you "doubt it makes much odds either electorally or in terms of rejoining for #labour to state it was a mistake"

Then why not state the truth?

*If* #labour want to do anything positive, they need to make the arguments and prepare the ground

I suspect #starmer will be #PM and ministers will get cars, pensions etc but still be all "pragmatic" and "now is not the time" and utterly fail to deliver any meaningful changes

Hope I'm wrong
