It's been awhile, but finally sat down to record my top masks picks of 2023. I also have some recommendations for those with larger heads too!

@masknerd Thanks for the update and the breatheability assessment.
@masknerd Hello! I know it might be a bit to ask, but could you make a large post on this topic? I don't really have the spoons to watch a video rn but I would love to read! <3 thanks for doing this work :>

@masknerd Thanks for the wonderful food for thought! Great updated guide for the mask nerds in all of us. Now I have to get a pressure gauge to go with my Portacount :D

As an Australian, the Drager 1920 (best fitting) and Trident have me covered for high risk / indoor situations, but I'm on the lookout for a black equivalent as well as colourful/convenient earloops for outdoor stuff. And of course more options for kid masks are always good.

Busily scribbling down the models you mentioned!

@masknerd Aaron, thank you for all you’ve done and continue to do to share scientific testing results of masks! You’ve helped me tremendously for years! 😷😃

@masknerd

Thank you for the new video! Do you still have a document with all the masks you have tested?

Thank you so much!

(I'm delighted to find you here, I followed you on the hellscape formerly known as Twitter, but had to leave there.)

@masknerd Thank you for this!! Will you be doing an update on kids masks? Fit options still seem hard for the little kids. I like the Blue I Know but curious about breathability.

@j15
Likely won't be doing an update kids mask video. My top picks for the earloop options also come in kids sizes too, and also have a collated data set for kids masks.

@masknerd Oooh, this is great stuff. Thanks!

(And validates my Masklab purchase nicely. Ha!)

@masknerd Hi I recently received my order of grey and black #breatheteq #masks. I was a bit worried about the transparency where the logos are…. would love your thoughts.
@deewani Think of them like windows, they let light though but not air. So the embossing has no impact of filtration effeciency.
@masknerd Thanks so much! You have literally been a lifesaver thru this pandemic. Bless.
@deewani No problem, just glad to help
@masknerd Took these for a test drive today on a fairly warm day. Fantastic. Thanks again for your recent video. Much more comfortable/breathable than the Powecoms which have been my go to along with Auras for specific instances. I didn’t feel the need to rip them off as soon as I exited a grocery store as I already run hot. Great recommendation!
@deewani @masknerd Cool! Thanks for sharing your experience with Breatheteq masks. Was tempted to order some after watching Aaron’s latest video. Like you, have been using Powecoms and Auras for a while now (previously used Blunas until redesign). Wasn’t sure which size of Breatheteq to order, so ordered the variety pack of 4 different sizes. Figured I’d play Goldilocks and find the one that fits, and donate the others..lol. Cheers! 😷
@cfmccarthy @masknerd YW I found the straps a bit long vs the Powecom, but put a knot in. Aaron’s video linked to cord locks but they were sold out so I just ordered the colored ones from same brand (no needle with these but I have an assortment of implements I can use). https://www.amazon.com/Assorted-Elastic-Adjustable-Suitable-Children/dp/B08DS7FKNB
@cfmccarthy @masknerd Same storefront I should have said, seem similar…https://www.amazon.com/s?me=AVBDN4K9BIHO8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER. His original link, in case it comes back in stock: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G1XHRW3
@deewani @masknerd Thanks!! As it turns out, after watching Aaron’s last video, I did go ahead and buy the pack of cord locks thinking they’d make me want to use a stash of Blunas I still had that didn’t fit as well after redesign. They locks were in stock then..the back & white set with the threader needle. They didn’t make me want to use my old Blunas..lol…but am grateful to have them on hand if get in a bind or need them to tighten up the fit on Breatheteq. 😷

@masknerd

Great video, engaging and pragmatic, and based on a clear understanding of what is needed in a mask. Thank you!

@masknerd Noticed they are now selling an X-Large Breatheteq mask during my recent purchase. (Not part of size sample kit).
