@majben I guess this is something for @luccaregari!
@jollysea @luccaregari if only he would be on mastodon :)
@majben I love the understatement of "They therefore did not have to pay taxes for shares since ‘everybody’ knew that they were not the real shareholders."
@majben "a recurrent phenomenon in the history of capital coding in Luxembourg: namely, private companies harnessing the government's law-making power." is that a reference to the author of certain opinions in the conseil d'Etat ?
@ymaurer I would argue that it goes beyond the Conseil d'Etat
@majben but why not cite the sources from the digitised newspapers with their persistent identifiers? It would make it easier for people to access the sources. eluxemburgensia.lu even provides a citation function for that. E.g.
"Asylstätten für Fluchtkapital".. In: Escher Tageblatt, 1938. Jg., nº 71 (25.03.1938), p. 9.

@ymaurer because we are stupid? Sorry for that. The article would not have been possible without the #bnl digitisation efforts.
@majben thanks, I appreciate that. Hopefully for the next one then.
@ymaurer where do you find the permalink? I think nobody is aware of it. I will make a short presentation at #c2dh
@majben when the article is highlighted, the persistent identifier (blue arrow ) and the citation function (Red) are above the text. I didn't realise it was not known, so that would be great if you could popularise it
@majben it's also explained on the page about copyright, but that is probably not popular enough

@ymaurer @majben I didn't know about that useful feature either! The icon makes it look more like a button to share on social media. How about a link icon?
@ymaurer it's one of my favorite "anecdotes"
