Feditext beta users: today's build 73 fixes bug #124 (SQLite error 19 with Firefish instances) and adds very basic support for displaying native quote posts on Firefish and Akkoma instances. it may also work with Mastodon instances running certain patches (Fedibird, Treehouse).

quoted posts are shown as links to the original, similarly to the way that they're displayed on non-quote-aware servers. this was the bare minimum necessary for legible timelines on instances with native quote posts; full support, including being able to quote posts through Feditext, will come later.

we'll be working on the scrolling performance issues next, since we know that's a major annoyance for users running everything from iPhone SEs to iPad Pros. thanks to everybody who reported the issue and provided their hardware details, we know it's not your hardware that's the problem; it's the app. perf issues can be tricky, so please be patient, and we'll do our best to get those sorted out.

@Feditext Thanks for the update! May I ask about issues connecting to firefish.social- I am still unable to connect to add my account; if I recall you mentioned this was being worked on?
@makasu we haven't heard anything from the firefish.social admins, and the Mastodon and NodeInfo APIs are still broken as of yesterday.
@Feditext I’ll remain lying in wait xD
@Feditext the wait was worth it, was able to add/login to my firefish.social account today!
@makasu glad to hear firefish.social's Mastodon API issues have been fixed
