Similarity you missed is that all three of them were projects stemming from the same modernist revolutionary tradition: two of them were the attempt to enforce French Revolution and Enlightment ideals via revolution that strived to achieve radical social equality, whereas American revolution did the same via individual freedoms guaranteed by complicated consititutional solutions.
