Installing Ubuntu on a desktop PC for the first time in ages, because I don't want to look like a dork at my new job where they use it. And... well, let's just say having to manually add file paths to the bios boot menu just so the installer wouldn't crash filled me with an OVERWHELMING sense of familiarity.
Good to know some things just never change.
(You could argue that this is probably me doing something wrong trying to UEFI boot the thing and that's most certainly true because I've not used this shit outside of headless servers in years. You COULD also argue that it's 2023 and an installer you've successfully booted into shouldn't crash because a specific entry is missing from a list.)
