While I understand your concerns, I never felt addicted to Twitter. For someone with my interests, I don't always have people to talk about them in real life. So it was nice to meet people from around the world that I could talk to about more niche stuff.
@1dalm For example, I followed people who were working on game design projects. They gave frequent updates on their work on Twitter and I got to interact with them as well and learn more about game development. Sure, they have other platforms and I made sure to check them out there once I realized Twitter was going down the toilet.
@1dalm If I want to talk about Afrofuturism, I don't know many people in my life who share those interests. But I ran into some who did online and not just on Twitter.
@theaverageoni @1dalm Steve Barnes is really into #afrofuturism, but I don't think he's here as of yet. I've been trying to get all the science fiction authors of my acquaintance here , sadly, without much luck so far.
