Signs of collapse and signs of an ecological society emerging coexist right now, in my opinion. The news covers the scary parts, and we need to know, and not look away. But lets not miss the little shoots of a saner more connected ecological-social-economic system either. What's a hint of a life-sustaining society emerging you've seen of late?
@bethsawin most neighborhoods here in San Jose have very active community gifting (formerly called buy nothing) groups where people in a very close neighborhood offer all kinds of things to each other for free. My wife and I use it all the time to pass along things our son has grown out of or which we no longer need. And we get things from it when we need them - my wife borrowed a pasta maker from a neighbor via our local group to make homemade pasta the other night. It’s great and growing
