He's going to get people killed with this.
You know what Nazis used to do in my Twitter replies before I started mass blocking?
They'd give my home address out to OTHER Nazis in my replies who had expressed an interest in murdering my family and me.

Upping the toxicity by 5% every week gets rid of a few but those with business there appear to just be doubling down, refusing to admit they're swimming in napalm and DDT. But I don't know why people haven't realized how toxic all social media is and left it.
@aka_quant_noir @gwensnyder also I'm not on twitter anymore more. I don't ask for funds on fb because it's so hostile towards poor people but still better than twitter because it's not yet kiwifarms levels of fucked.
I have Instagram which I barely use atm, and just recently got blue sky, and of course I have mastodon. I think that's enough social medias for me.
I also run a page on fb to try help people unlearn right wing propaganda
@smollestbunny @gwensnyder a few weeks ago Mark Hamill suggested a single day boycott of Twitter.
I thought hey, yeah, I can do that. And removed Twitter from my phone's home screen. But then I just never went back at all.
I opened it up to read a few threads linked from elsewhere, but haven't posted anything and broke the daily Twitter scrolling/posting habit.
Was really surprised how easy it was.
I didn't leave completely, so I could log in to block every ad post I saw.
Most of the alternatives are either nearly as bad (Zuckerberg) or exist for a specific niche (Mastodon is for people who specifically hate Elon Musk). If you want to reach a mass audience, you go where the people are, which makes social media tend towards a monopoly.
@smollestbunny @gwensnyder It's legitimately worse.
KF was barely/non-modified Xenforo forum software, afaik. Even that has a blocking feature.
@1900490Freak @gwensnyder @ananas
I also block all promoted posts. All of them. Blocking them is killing his already anemic ad revenue.
@ananas @gwensnyder To the (supposed) free speech absolutists and also the pro-harassment crowd that Twitter's always courted, the ability to block people falls under Evil Scary Cancelling. They've always opposed anything that makes it easier for people to not pay attention to them.
They'll cheer this as opening up the marketplace of ideas or whatnot even as they also cheer on Musk banning the use of words like "cisgender," because both policies let them hurt people they dislike.
@brianeisley @pstewart @ananas @gwensnyder
Don't they have anything better to do with their time?
@ananas @gwensnyder That’s because Elmo does not actually lead, he follows.
He’s a communal narcissist. His (uncurable) psychosis is that only he can save the world, and he can do better than anyone else.
With a social media as his ”flock” to save, he becomes effectively a populist. And to boot he’s probably only surrounded by yes-men telling all his ideas are wonderlful by now anyway.
Classic mad emperor, with the god-complex settling in.
Jfc.
@gwensnyder disgusting.
There is so much shit there I don't want to see, and if I can't block it, I'm out.
I stuck around because some people there didn't move off for various reasons, but yeah this'll probably kick them off as well.
@gwensnyder this seriously makes it a worse platform for marginalized people and will kick them off, which the worst people using it (ex: elon himself) will celebrate
That leads to it becoming 4chan/gab, which despite still existing do have limited mainstream appeal
