Weird Al continues to be the literal best.

@williampietri Al is a conversational assistant of a high order, and passes the Turing test, at least with my sans-serif typeface.

Al == AI

@williampietri OK, but will he then help support the defense when a fan gets sued by his publisher for following his advice?
@admin
Are publishers still doing that these days? Are his?

@williampietri Well, several governments will go after you for using a VPN; publishers are mostly going after service providers these days, but there's no guarantee it's going to stay that way.

This is his own content. He could figure out a way to get it licensed legally. Instead he's just telling people to break the law and not caring about the consequences.

@admin He literally said his distributor is working on getting the movie to be available in Australia. He *is* trying to get it licensed legally. As to the rest, again, do you have any evicdence there would be "consequences" in this specific case? To me this looks like needless fault-finding based on either misunderstandings or fantasies.

@williampietri actually, yeah, you're probably right as far as the OP in Australia goes. I lost sight of that context. Somewhere like Russia you could absolutely be arrested for using a VPN, but while there have been attempts to pass similar laws in Australia, it remains legal so far.

Still don't think it's great advice though really. It's fun, but it still does have the potential to get people in a lot of trouble, even if that doesn't seem likely at this moment.

@williampietri @admin this eventually got sorted; Weird is on Paramount+ here (the cheap option) or I saw it on Qantas (substantially more expensive). :)
@admin @williampietri thats why you use a VPN. Can't catch you if they can't see you do it
@williampietri He’s on a very short list of people I genuinely admire.
@williampietri the joys of pirating strike yet again
@williampietri Yeah, Weird Al's the best. πŸ˜„
@williampietri
You might need to walk onto a PIER TO PEER at it.
@williampietri your the man al, keep being white and nerdy
