HezFINALLY! I am DMing for my first time ever tonight and I am VIBRATING with excitement!! Running #TheWildSheepChase one-shot & it's gonna be silly fun with lots of DM roleplay & accents because I was a theatre kid, and that shit never leaves you. I've got home-built set pieces & modular stackers to suggest any structure I need, full session notes, a music playlist and a bunch of awesome ChatGPT generated scripts. Also, hilarious IRL magic items! So basically, they're gonna get A SHOW! #DMJournal
I am also very cognizant of the fact that The Game Happens At The Table, and I can't wait to see how the PCs derail, up-end and mess up every little thing I've planned. It's gonna be awesome.
Some flourishes I've added tonight include the NIS/cinematic at the beginning to introduce my larger campaign setting that I hope we explore in the future, the introduction of a younger iteration of my fave NPC from that world (because these events happen several years before that campaign) & some flashier names for a few the NPCs provided in the free #DnD5e module I downloaded. As far as villainous wizards go, [the apprentice formerly known as Nigel] #NokeTheEntitled is a pretty juicy moniker.
Holy shit, it was fantastic. My players loved it. We all had a blast. Lots of amazing chaos because #TheGameHappensAtTheTable, and they all can't wait to do it again.
