I wish more people would talk about Sentinel Comics: RPG. Internet is so barren of it. I mean it makes sense, it's just 3 years old.

@Arxosnox I backed the kickstarter and have the book — but it’s never made it to the game table. What aspects do you like or most look forward to?

@wiredprairie I haven't gotten a chance to play it myself yet, so I can't speak for how it goes in practice.

But I am so fascinated by the approach to performing actions. The way you describe what your character is doing and THEN come to the conclusion of what you're supposed to roll sounds a lot more fun than DnD or Pathfinder.

The freeform nature of powers and qualities makes creating heroes and villains almost dream-like. I've made one-trick villains, nefarious schemers, and dashing heroes. Never once have I had to question IF I could do something.

The most controversial part of Sentinel Comics, namely the lack of progression, doesn't dissuade me at all. There's no level 20 you look forward to but never reach, it's just making a character and play. An old character can team up with a new one no problem.

I also have to applaud how surprisingly setting agnostic the rules are. Yes, it's all themed after superheroes by default but it doesn't have to be. A bit of creativity is all it takes.
