I've never understood why utilities don't move power lines underground. Maybe it would be more hassle to maintain them but maybe the reduced risk would be worth it.

@snooze_cat in our area the above ground utilities have removed more than 3/4 of our tree canopy. The ramifications have been horrible for the environment, increased heat indexes, and scarred our communities.
