HEAD'S UP #SEATTLE #PNW

We're in a #Covid #Surge or #Wave or whatever you want to call it.

Just got a report from a local healthcare provider that OVER HALF (50%+) appts yesterday were cancelled because of #Covid

Plus other toots from people in the area

Remember, #Vaccinated or #unvaccinated

1. It weakens your immune system
2. You can catch it again (see #1)
3. The more times you get it the higher chance of worse reinfection and/or #LongCovid

#MaskUp & PLEASE STAY SAFE OUT THERE!

The only actual proof of this would be #wastewater which takes time to show up.

For Washington, the last date on the data (https://doh.wa.gov/emergencies/covid-19/data-dashboard#WasteWater)

is July 30, 2023.

Today is Aug 16, 2023.

So time will tell.

I'm calling it a "surge" when 50% of a provider's appts are cancelled specifically because of #Covid.

There is no official definition. #FAIL #wave #uptick I wish there was.

I wish they hadn't removed reporting.

I wish they had never sent out RAT home tests

I wish a lot.

I stopped using "reported #covid cases" when they removed the capability to report cases.

If you look at Hospital Capacity
(https://data.rgj.com/covid-19-hospital-capacity/washington/53/king-county/53033/) the entire column on the far right titled "COVID-19 Confirmed" is marked "N/A" so that makes it difficult to believe there is much accuracy in the "Hospitalizations due to covid" chart.

Death & Hospitalization are not the only metrics. Just your luck, you'll survive. #LongCovid

I had to stop reading a huge long thread on reddit of "Swifties" who said they were sick after her concert. Do they test & are their test accurate? Actually, a lot have and have been pos(+) Do they end up in the hospital? Mostly not. Do they stay home more than a couple days? Mostly not. How do you report a positive RAT?

Also I would love if there was an actual definition of "surge" and "wave" and freaking "uptick". Sorry, /rant.
