I’m frankly surprised to see Mark Meadows’s name among the defendants in Georgia. I thought he was busy cooperating with authorities. I guess that was just Jack Smith, not Fani Willis. Still, RICO is a pretty dangerous charge. He’d best start cooperating with her, too.
@georgetakei Disappointed not seeing Lindsay Graham on any of this!
@beckymsm @georgetakei he’s likely protected by the speech and debate clause
@darth_irritable @georgetakei maybe a co-conspirator?
@beckymsm @georgetakei IANAL but I don’t think so, from the known facts
@beckymsm @georgetakei As a South Carolinian, I agree. My only small hope is that he flipped on Trump and is singing in the choir.

@georgetakei I am thrilled to see his Teflon wear thru.

Being from NC, I know well what a total scoundrel he is, and he deserves at least SOME reckoning.

@georgetakei Compliance will be rewarded. They can drop him once he's delivered on the stand.
@georgetakei It depends what cooperation was offered.
@georgetakei
How did Lindsey Graham avoid indictment. Did he flup?
@GatekeepKen @georgetakei You never know whether there is just lack of sufficient evidence. Especially for a sitting congresscreature, who has some privileges to say things.
@GatekeepKen @georgetakei I have loathed Graham more than most people do, for longer than most people do, so would have loved to see him shrieking in despair.
@chemoelectric @georgetakei
They had him on TAPE, and secondly he does not have any business in Georgia. Thirdly he doesn't represent the TFG . He was caught.

@GatekeepKen @georgetakei

You can argue to me till the cows come home, but I’m not a lawyer. :)

@georgetakei I wa particularly glad to see meadows. He was so dispassionate in his acquiescence
@georgetakei I think the window to cooperate has slammed shut. There are 30 #unindicted #coconspirators that are already cooperating. I think the #TrumpCrimeFamily19 are going to face the music.
@georgetakei I guess that's the approach, make him a star witness by paving a way to a plea deal.
@georgetakei It sounded like Meadows took the 5th on just about every question they asked. What was it Donnie used to say about people who did that on the stand?
@norcalpm @georgetakei well, the mere fact that that guy said so doesn’t actually make it true
@js @georgetakei No, it doesn’t necessarily imply guilt, but for a high-ranking official in the government past or present to use it repeatedly certainly is a bad look.
@norcalpm @georgetakei That may be so, but “Tangerine Blobby said so” is by no means strong evidence in favour of the veracity of, well, anything.
@georgetakei I was very surprised at the Meadows indictment too. Yes, I, too, was under the impression he was fully cooperating
@georgetakei Meadow was only charged with the RICO and solicitation of violation of oath of a public officer, which sounds to me like he may have got a deal to drop some of the many other charges. I’m curious to see how he pleads.

@georgetakei

Lindsey Graham made a phone call too, wonder how come his name isn’t on the list

@georgetakei Sen. Lindsay Graham of South Carolina had his delicate fingers in this as well; he called GA Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and tried to convince him to throw out Fulton County ballots tossed out. I wonder why he's not on the list--unless he flipped and got a deal.
@georgetakei I guess Fani Willis reckons she doesn’t need Mark Meadows as a cooperating witness. Karma will get you somehow!

@georgetakei
Meadows likely made a deal with the FEDERAL case/authorities.

I don't think the GA DA offered him a deal (probably not necessary.)

This indictment could very well be intended to convince many of the indicted to cooperate.

@georgetakei

#Meadows could not possibly think he can cooperate in a federal investigation and keep his guilty yap shut on the state level.

#Indictment

@georgetakei it made me laugh seeing Giuliani getting indicted on RICO charges.
@georgetakei Well, any agreement comes with terms like if he refuses after agreeing to terms.
