Registering for YouBike here in #Taiwan, and particularly pleased about the whirling bell, and the down tube that will enable my petite body to be easily controlled.
@willbuckingham this app needs to calm tf down

That app bombards you with notifications. And while the docking stations have become smaller and easier to install, it has become harder for tourists without a #Taiwan-ese phone number to rent and use a YouBike.
Last year in Kaohsiung I would not find any #YouBike station with a Kiosk service pillar that would allow for the use of a credit card. Plenty of those in Taichung and Taipei however.

@bikejourno Interesting! I've just got myself a Taiwan phone number, so it's been fairly straightforward so far. I look forward to the bombardment of notifications, though…

Frankly I could only ride a YouBike on shorter trips. That saddle is way too wide and soft for me, I'm used to the kind of slim chopping boards with very firm padding - and yes: a less upright position with less weight on my bum.
Longest ride I ever did on a YouBike was from Damsui MRT past Hobe Fort, up to the ocean front at Qianshuiwan Seaside Park and back. Sadly that was not a sunny day in the spring of 2016...
