Well, well: guess who tipped off the FBI that Craig Robertson in Utah was making violent threats against Alvin Bragg, President Biden, V-P Kamala Harris, Merrick Garland and others?

It all began with Trump's Truth Social notifying the FBI in March about the threats against Bragg. Then the Secret Service alerted the FBI to the threats.

As Kate Riga notes, right wingers want to make Robertson a martyr.

And it's of course tragic to see a man shot. But this was a man who answered the FBI's knock on his door pointing a gun at agents, refusing to drop it, with a long history of lurid violent death fantasies targeting key public figures online. This was a man who posted a photo of an assault rifle with the caption, "My democrat eradicator." Robertson owned a virtual arsenal of assault rifles and guns.

Craig Robertson posted online that the "time is right for a presidential assassination or two. First Joe then Kamala!!!"

He posted a photo of a nickel he had shot, stating "Well, I did it to Jefferson right on the temple. Bet I can do it to old Joey and save the world!" He posted, "I want to stand over Bragg and put a nice hole in his forehead with my 9mm and watch him twitch as a drop of blood oozes from the hole as his life ebbs away to hell!"

Craig Robertson taunted the FBI by speaking online of the FBI's "violent eradication." He posted a violent fantasy of shooting Merrick Garland dead center in his forehead and of shooting Gavin Newsom and Letitia James.

Yet the Mormon-owned Deseret News has published statements from Robertson's Mormon family claiming he was a good family man exercising free speech. Robertson was a Mormon and financial clerk of his ward.

Good man? Free speech?
