I want an app like Strava but for housework rather than exercise.

Then I can enter "Spent 25 minutes vacuuming" and all my friends can give me kudos and thumbs ups.

@thomasbeagle yes please!! I would totally subscribe to this lol
@thomasbeagle I put my watch into freestyle workout mode when I do my housework so I get some acknowledgement for my efforts.
@thomasbeagle "I do the supermarket shopping once a month to give the wife a rest" sort of thing?

@thomasbeagle

I think on Apple Watch / iPhone you could create a custom workout named "vacuuming" and do that.

@thomasbeagle That is a _genius_ idea. I mean it. Who knows how to write apps? Let's do this!
@thomasbeagle isn't that what this is for

@cestfleuve Not one person has responded to my sub-textual cry for approval and head-pats!

Also it took me more like an hour. #Hmph

@thomasbeagle genuinely, this should be a thing
@thomasbeagle my BFF and I have an understanding that this is sometimes what texting is for - just saying we did a thing and getting a pat on the back. Super helpful and nice!
@xanna Yep, we're big on the asking for and getting head pats too. Much better than feeling unappreciated!

@thomasbeagle

Maybe a job for a hashtag in the Fediverse?

What would a good one be?

@feijoatrees @thomasbeagle

I like it!

I'll start:

I emptied the very full slop bucket aka compost bin, then washed it out ooh yuck.
#houseworkheadpats

@pzriddle @feijoatrees @thomasbeagle subscribed, let's see if anyone else plays. I'm honestly more likely to favourite hashtags here than look at an app (#parenting works a bit like this for me, I sometimes favourite stories with this tag that talk about a difficult parenting task, to acknowledge the effort)
@thomasbeagle It would also make a plan for you so that you can keep your house neat and tidy? Where can I sign up?
@thomasbeagle Isn't that sort of behaviour now known as 'one-Uff manship' thanks to Sam?
@thomasbeagle It seems to have 200 exercise categories so maybe look again. I sometimes log lawn mowing as walking. The map looks messy but those really are steps and that is exercise.
