So among other #OriginalPokémon (aka #Fakemon) projects I'm working on, one that's coming up Soon™ is based on Krabby, but switches the concept of "pincer claws" for "scissor claws", and would trade pincer / grabbing moves (like Visegrip, Crabhammer) for slicing moves (like Fury Cutter, Slash). Might be designed around the coconut crab.

Anyway, what do you think this concept works better as? see poll.

Just in case: I've been Corrected on the Internet that the way the franchise uses "convergent", like Wiglett ~ Diglett, is not "sibling species" but rather completely different species — or even genuses / orders, that assume similar shapes. Diglett is a mole, Wiglett is an eel.

Still close enough to what I intend but I wanted to clarify that I meant parallel as in IRL!parallel. My fanon Krabby is hopefully still a crab, or some sort of. Thanks, le.goldenwolf @ PokéCommunity .

Aaaand this ended in a tie. Which means I'm more or less exactly back where I began.

OTOH, it means I can feel Absolutely Blameless whichever way I choose to go.

And since my current pokedex datamodel can account for both, it's time to toss a coin.

(inb4 it lands on edge)
