My life with #Linux started many years ago in a virtual machine playing around. Didn’t last long as it was “hard” and I wanted to play games and I was young and lazy.

Fast forward about 10 years I decided to start learning about #pentesting and used #hackthebox following @IppSec on YouTube. That’s when I really learned a lot about how Linux works and really started to enjoy and appreciate it.

I did it for about a year before taking a break to game and going back to windows.

Fast forward 5 years later I decided to reformat my “server” (old gaming desktop) to #Ubuntu Server and was using it to learn more about #Linux and now #Docker too.

Two years later (present time) I am running 25+ dockers for things like home automation, self hosted cloud apps, sso, etc.

AND I officially dropped #windows for my main desktop as #GamingOnLinux has improved immensely over the years. And a lot of those tricks pass over to my #MacBookAir

It’s suffice to say I am very happy about Linux. But having no friends who even know how to use Linux I’ve come to #mastodon to share my happiness.

If only I could convince my boss to let me use Linux. But our company’s software is all windows 🤮

Time to see if I can get their software working with wine. #windowsemulation #linux
