At the center of the area we are surveying is a large granitic outcrop, a little less than 200m high at its highest point, that was the site of a medieval city. The outcrop is all overgrown, like you can see here, but trails like this one run up and through it to allow local villagers to bring their cattle up to graze. The paths pass through the ancient city walls and past many intact ancient features.
