“The Double Knot”

I always do a double-knot.
For on that day my mother taught
Me how to tie my little shoes,
She told me I could also choose
To bind the loops not once but twice.
I gladly followed this advice
Because I’d got it in my head
That “Devil Knot” was what she’d said.
