One thing that you can do to make Mastodon posts much more readable/much more accessible is to put your hashtags at the end of your post.
Trying to read text which is littered with hashtags and blue hyperlinks is an accessibility nightmare. Put links at the end of your post, like this, instead!

Yet another frustration caused by everybody being forced to use hashtags because Mastodon does not have an opt-in search feature
On top of Disability communities and others already blocked from finding each other for lack of Search, now inline hashtags are an added barrier for people who use screen-readers
These systems need to be changed. Rather than requesting each user change their habits one at a time
