Anyone have #silverplate #flatware as their #hobby? Cleaning and sorting a bunch for our #thriftshop and came across what turned out to be a Rogers #oysterfork #RogersPrimrose but every other Rogers Primrose silverplate hit I've found shows it differently. Thoughts? #mysteryitems #oysterfork #cocktailfork #secondhand
We're thinking the answer may lie in the different lines of cutlery manufacturers with Rogers in the name. Rogers & Bro was acquired by International Silver around the turn of the 20th century, so perhaps we should be looking to IS for the "correct" Primrose pattern. Hmm.
And so it is! Thank you Google, internet search pals, and the massive invisible vibe of "let's find stuff out" https://www.replacements.com/silver-international-silver-primrose-silverplate-1892/c/43210
also, hat tip of gratitude to Art Design Cafe for helping us make the connection between Rogers and IS
