can you list any open source software that has become the industry standard, so far i got
- obs- video-streaming
- android
- Linux and BSD on servers
- both chrome and firefox are
based on open source
edit: explaining this further, bassically parents said something along the lines of open-source being a waste of time and money, which is completely wrong, especially given the parents in question work for the government

- #Audacity is the go-to solution for a lot of #RF and non-Voice/Music #Audio work.
- #WebCall (1:1 #E2EE) & #JitsiMeet (#Videoconferencing) are excellent tools being used for #Videocalling.
- @torproject #Tor is the go-to communications solution for state and non-state actors.
- #Monero 
is the black market currency #1
All are FLOSS'd!

- Even if they use shitty #MicrosoftExchange's #MAPI instead of #IMAP, the #Mailserver still uses #SMTP to sent out stuff.
- #HTTP (#Apache, #ngnix)
- #FTP (#vsftpd)
- #SSL (#OpenSSL & #Mozilla NSS)
- #SteamDeck runs #ArchLinux / #SteamOS
- #NintendoSwitch & #PS3-#PS5 & #PSvita run #FreeBSD.
@animemer @thecatcollective also the Backends of all big enterprises, espechally #GAFAMs run basically exlcusovely on #FLOSS and maybe some inhoise tools they didn't publish at all.
- Basically every #CPE, from a shitty #Cable/#DSL-#Modem to #Router and #AccessPoint run some sort if #embedded #Linux or #FreeBSD.
- Same for the entire Carrier Networks and Internet.
- Basically every #Navigation System runs some Embedded Linux as well and everyone if those run a Dykstra + A* to find routes.

@animemer @thecatcollective in.shirt, the only #CCSS still surviving exists solely due to 4 reasons:
1. Toxic Lock-In (i.e. Microsoft & Apple) and weaponization of Patents (also espechally both!)
2. Lazy Users that rather accept being mistreated amd milked for cash than mograting away. (All #Adobe products!)
3. Lack of investment in FLOSS Competitiors. (See #DavimciResolve by Blackmagocdesign)
4. State-endorsed support and preferential treatment of CCSS over #FLOSS for the same bad reasons!
Also #Ada, which is used to basically program all guided bombs, missiles and avionics in, is #Opensource As #ProgrammingLamguague, enshuring longterm maintainabiliry, saving costs both private and public!
