@marcan
#asahilinux is good to have but I'd rather buy #hardware from companies that are not subtly hostile to #freeasinfreedom software, I.e. #nodrm.
Are recent #amd and #intel hw comparable to #AppleSilicon ?
@paoloredaelli Asahi isn’t for you then. Why did you feel the need to reply at all?
@boffbowsh
Because I used to love #apple before they got infatuated with #DRM, i.e. when they supported #MkLinux.
#asahilinux hackers of course deserve many kudos, yet I dream to see #Apple release specs for M1/2 so that #reverseengineering is not required.
@boffbowsh
I replied with a fully public answer instead of making a separate post hoping to be read by people who know hardware scene better than me… 😅😰😥

@paoloredaelli @boffbowsh i mean if your complaint is DRM, staying on Intel/AMD isn't a better position...

In fact, M1/M2 don't have an equivalent to ME/PSP and all device firmware is uploaded by you.

Jeffrey Paul: Your Computer Isn't Yours

@paoloredaelli @lena cool so don’t buy a Mac if it bothers you that much. Don’t be a reply guy.

@paoloredaelli @boffbowsh yes but what i said still stands.

either you go use an athlon 64, or if you go Intel/AMD, you have ME/PSP.

I'd much rather have linux on a mac and have none of that.

you do you.
